While listening to the excellent audiobook Washington: A Life by Ron Chernow, this sentence in a letter from Thomas Jefferson to James Madison made me think about letter writing:
“The motion of my blood no longer keeps time with the tumult of the world.” Full letter here

I picked up a new dead person today from the Elkhorn Antique Flea Market. It is probably the biggest gathering of antique sellers in the area when the weather is nice.
I paid more than my current average but less than 1/2 of what a 120-year-old frame in such an excellent condition usually sells for.
